Trading License in Khasi hills is over

As the new Executive Committee was formed after the KHADC Election held on February 21 Feb 2025, the result showed an absolute victory. Without delay The Executive Committee has been successfully formed solely by the Voice of the People Party (VPP) alone.

As announced by the Chief Executive Member of KHADC, he and the Executive Committee will move forward with a strong focus on addressing the concerns about Trading Licenses, which are a significant issue for the Khasi people and the state.

This statement marks the first time an Executive Committee, headed by Shemborlang Rynjah from the Lyngkyrdem Laitkroh Constituency, has been formed. It also includes various employment opportunities and Disguise employment within the KHADC office and will address the challenges faced by the people.

Trading Licenses are required for every single businessman who is non-tribal and runs a business in any area under the jurisdiction of the KHADC. As long as a person is from a Scheduled Tribe (ST) and is capable of running the business, no Trading License will be issued to anyone other than a ST (Khasi).

Therefore, the initiative of the KHADC and the Executive Committee will bring a significant change to the economy of the state, particularly in the Khasi Hills and all areas under the KHADC's jurisdiction.
